Parkway Ford: A Legacy of Growth and Leadership
Parkway Ford was founded in 1973 by Ian Cowles, originally located beside the Waterloo Motor Inn on the outskirts of the city. As Waterloo expanded, so did Parkway—adding facilities and staff throughout the 1980s. The dealership quickly became a regional leader in wholesale parts, supporting a growing service and collision repair operation and selling everything from compact cars to highway tractors.
Following Mr. Cowles’ unexpected passing in 1995, then-General Manager Ken Bast partnered with Mike Stollery of Eastway Ford to purchase the dealership. Together, they continued Parkway’s strong commitment to customer and employee satisfaction. In 1999, they acquired the former Stevens Lincoln Mercury dealership, consolidating the Lincoln brand and many of the staff into Parkway by 2002.
With Mike Stollery's focus shifting to Barrie Ford, Dan Deboer—previously General Manager and Service Manager—became Managing Partner in 2002. Under Dan's leadership, Parkway earned multiple Ford of Canada President's Awards and became the top-volume Ford and Lincoln dealer in the region.
In 2020, Dan transitioned to a new role focused on fixed operations across the organization. Paul Hewitt, a seasoned automotive executive, stepped in as Managing Partner to oversee dealership operations.
In 2024, Parkway Ford was acquired by CanadaOne Auto, marking a new chapter in its history. Scott Metcalfe, who has been a longstanding part of the organization, continues to lead the dealership as Managing Partner, continuing Parkway’s tradition of excellence under the CanadaOne banner.
Today, with over 70 dedicated employees, Parkway Ford remains committed to delivering exceptional sales and service experiences to the Waterloo community and beyond.
